Well I don’t know about you guys, but i’m getting sick of the winter weather. Atleast it’s already mid-January, so we’re slowly approaching spring. There were a lot of indoor sessions that went down over winter break. Lots of locals hit up Krush, Circus, and 4 Seasons on a regular basis to stay sharp on their ramp skills. There is a Circus Contest goin down today, so hopefully lots of kids showed up……Circus is the only local park around that is geared towards BMX, so it’s good to show some support. There’s a couple photos in the gallery from a few sessions, for the most part a lot of the parks have been overly crowded with kids being on winter break……making taking photos practically impossible. I got a few snaps in though!!!! A 4 seasons trip may be goin on tonight with a few of us. It’s a hour and a half drive to Milwaukee, but that park is amazing and worth the wasted gas. I urge a lot of people to check it out if you can. I believe they are having a demo there on the 23rd or so with Brian Kachinsky, Gary Young, Chris Doyle, Jeff K., and other pro’s. That will definitely be a show to see. Watching Gary Young and Chris Doyle ride in person is something that everyone needs to do. So get out there and start cranking out some new tricks and new lines at the local indoor parks and stop in the shop and give us a holler………..oh yeah and everyone needs to buy Props MegaTour 9, soooooooo much Chicago coverage. They go all over Chicago-land and tear up all the spots a lot of us have seen a million times….it’s a good watch, and maybe you can spot some of us in the background as we led the Tree Bikes team around my school campus at UIC and a couple other spots……watch it…..or come into the shop and buy one……and hang out and watch ours…..thanks.

So Winter is officially here. When the Weather is in the single digits, I think it’s safe to say that old man winter has won out. So it’s time for the BMXers to move their sessions indoors (or warmer climates), while the MTBers get to still ride outside (sans studded tires) if they can brave the temperature. There’s been some sessions going down at Circus Skatepark as well as Krush Skatepark; there’s also been talks of putting together our next Ray’s Mtb trip in the upcoming weeks. The shops been getting stocked up on parts for the holidays. Today we got an order of Shadow Conspiracy stuff as well as some new DK parts. The new DK plastic pedals came in and they are probably one of the nicest/simplest PC designs i’ve seen and weigh in at around 11 ounces…..sooooo light. We also got an order of the Flybikes Cobra Tubes…..which would be amazing buy for anyone that is lazy, since you would never have to take off your wheel to change a flat…..and it would also make a great emergency tube. A Fit order just got placed as well, with some monster truck F.A.F.’s at 20 x 2.30 coming in and some bars and stem and other odds and ends. Some of the shop employees built up some new bikes and frames or just got new paint schemes. Check out the gallery to scope em out. There’s some Ray’s MTB in there, a little circus, some burbank, a little bit of everything i’ve had layin around. The Ray’s trip was amazing as usual…..lots of riding and chilling. The new box room is insane, go check the gallery for proof. The weather has been holding out and some of us got one last outdoor street sesh and Burbank session in this weekend. Winter break is around the corner and i’m sure some trips will be getting planned. Hopefully a big shop trip to Ray’s again….maybe a little Austin, TX, who knows only time will tell…….but enjoy the weather (while you can) and RIDE YOUR BIKE!!!!!!!
I’ve been busy with school but we went on our first ray’s trip of the year so i have lots to show ya’ll. Be patient…..school costs me lots of dough. Here’s one pic to tide ya over. Bigger version seen here as well as a few other snaps from the weekend.
Well since my schooling is beyond busy, my posting and riding photography have been a lil on the slow side. But none the less, here’s some stuff for everyone…….The Plainfield dirt jam went down about two weeks ago and it was a blast. Cambr West was host of the thing and they did a great job of putting everything together and getting tons and tons of free swag to give away, I don’t think anyone walked away empty handed. The riding was laid back, with everyone just wanting to have a good ole sunday sesh. Besides the jam, not too much has gone down the last few weeks. The weather has been beyond crappy not leaving any time for riding really. In shop new though, almost all manufacturer’s 2010 models are out. We had about 7 Fit completes in and they came and went with the wind. I’m sure more will be in soon, but special orders are always welcome. Come in and hang out and watch some vids with us or if weather is permitting get out and ride your dang bike. Click here for some good ole’ fashion fun.
Hannenburg has been workin hard on his backyard, and there have been some sessions goin down as of late. I stopped over the other day to see that the bike shop groms (Billy and Mark) were 6 feet in the ground diggin out clay…..way to put those new schoolers to work Hanny. So the last few weeks since the Dew Tour have passed and things have been a little less chaotic. The weather has been on the crappy side, but there have been a ton of sessions goin down at lots of the parks in the area and everyone has been having good times. With summer winding down i’m sure we will start getting things done for sure. The shop has been busy as usual, we have had a lot of parts coming in and out constantly. If you’re lookin for a good complete BMX bike we have some of the Stolen completes in stock. Come check em out before they are gone. The inaugural OPC Burbank jam is gonna go down still sometime in mid August. Some of the OPC crew went on a west coast excursion, so getting things scheduled has been a little delayed. So Dew Tour came and went, and it was an amazing weekend. The riding was insane, the parties were insane, and the weather was insane(ly) hot. It took a while to edit all the photos to upload and it has been busy around the shop, so I apologize about the delay. I had a blast though walking around shooting photos and just enjoying having an event like that come through Chicago. Our tent was a hit, with tons of people stopping by to grab some posters and talk about anything riding related. Dawayne was the all star of the booth’s thats all I know. This is just a quick recap though I’m sure most have heard about the results and started to see coverage on TV and the internet. Thanks to everyone that came by and to everyone that helped us with anything related to the Dew Tour.
